UAE Market
Luxury Retail

A luxury brand invisible to its own market's search engines.

Rivoli had strong brand equity offline but was underperforming in organic search — particularly for Arabic-language queries and AI-driven search results that were increasingly capturing luxury shopping intent in the UAE.

🌐
No Multilingual SEO Infrastructure

The site lacked proper hreflang implementation, meaning Google was unable to correctly serve English vs Arabic pages to the right users — leading to cannibalisation and missed ranking opportunities in Arabic-language SERPs.

🏷️
1,000+ Unstructured SKUs

Product pages had no structured data — no Product schema, no offers markup, no review schema. This meant zero eligibility for rich results and AI search citations, leaving significant SERP real estate on the table.

🤖
No AI Search Visibility

With UAE consumers increasingly using AI-powered search for luxury product discovery, the brand had no strategy for appearing in zero-click AI answers or generative search results.

🔍
Weak Technical Foundation

Core technical issues including slow page speeds on product pages, inconsistent internal linking across language variants, and missing canonical tags were undermining overall organic performance.

Building multilingual authority for a luxury audience.

Every decision was made with the UAE luxury shopper in mind — technically precise, culturally aware, and optimised for both traditional and AI-powered search.

Phase 01
Technical SEO Audit

Full site audit covering page speed, crawlability, duplicate content between language versions, and indexation health. Identified critical hreflang errors causing English and Arabic pages to compete against each other in search.

Phase 02
Hreflang Architecture Implementation

Designed and implemented a comprehensive hreflang strategy across all product, category, and landing pages — correctly signalling language and regional targeting to Google for both en-AE and ar-AE variants.

Phase 04
AI Search & Zero-Click Optimisation

Developed an AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) strategy targeting high-intent luxury queries — optimising product descriptions, FAQs, and category content to appear in AI-generated search summaries and zero-click results.

Phase 05
Performance Tracking Setup

Built a bilingual SEO reporting dashboard in Looker Studio tracking organic performance separately for English and Arabic language variants — enabling data-driven decisions for both markets independently.

Luxury visibility, measurably improved.

Results achieved through technical precision and multilingual strategy — no paid media involved.

+30%
Organic Traffic Growth

Overall organic sessions grew 30% following hreflang fixes and structured data implementation, with Arabic-language traffic showing the strongest gains.

1,000+
SKUs Structured

Every product page received full structured data markup — making the entire catalogue eligible for rich results and AI search citations for the first time.

2x
Languages Optimised

English and Arabic variants now correctly target their respective audiences — eliminating internal cannibalisation and opening the brand to the full UAE search market.

What this project taught me.

01

Hreflang errors are silent traffic killers. Most multilingual sites have them and don't know it. A single misconfigured hreflang tag can cause two pages to compete against each other — erasing the organic potential of both language variants.

02

Structured data is table stakes for AI search. Brands without schema markup are invisible to AI-powered search results. For luxury retail where discovery happens increasingly through AI assistants, this is no longer optional.

03

Scale structured data with templates, not manual work. Rolling out schema across 1,000+ SKUs manually is impossible. A templated, programmatic approach is the only way to achieve coverage at catalogue scale.
